Bridging the Gap for the Next Generation

Statistically, every two years, 190,000 welders retire from their lifelong careers. After spending 33 years in the welding industry, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it is for companies to fill these vacancies with experienced welders. When you consider the accumulated knowledge and expertise of these retiring professionals, it’s evident that a wealth of wisdom is being lost.

To those who have retired from welding, I salute you with the utmost respect and gratitude for your contributions to this essential industry. As for myself, I’ve been retired from welding for 15 years and have since built a successful career as a roofing contractor. But the truth is, welding never left me—it remains a passion deeply ingrained in who I am.

For the past years, I’ve been planning, investing, and strategizing to create something meaningful: a place where I could give back to the next generation. Two years ago, my wife and I were thrilled to open ARK Welding Academy, LLC, in Balch Springs, Texas, a school dedicated to empowering young adults.

The Need for Intervention

Our youth today face unprecedented challenges—suicide, drug abuse, violence, and discouragement are just some of the hurdles they encounter. These are not just stories on the news; they’re a reality for many young people in our communities. It’s clear that now, more than ever, our younger generation needs guidance, opportunities, and positive influences to help them transition into successful, independent adulthood.

A Vision of Opportunity

At ARK Welding Academy, we are committed to making a difference. Our academy offers more than just welding instruction; it’s an opportunity for young adults to learn a valuable trade, build confidence, and establish a foundation for a profitable and sustainable career. Not everyone chooses the college route, but everyone deserves a chance to thrive.

Drawing on decades of experience, I aim to pass on my knowledge and skills to this next generation. But this mission isn’t something I can do alone—I need the help of passionate individuals like you.
